Viv, the morning show host of 99.7 EZ Rock, and I went to Banana Republic in the Bayshore Shopping Centre a few weeks ago to play dress up for Spring!

We picked out three outfits perfect for this time of year: business casual, weekend wear, and evening wear!

Vogue's 5 Days, 5 Looks, 1 Girl - Lawren Howell

Those of you who follow my blog regularly know that I love Vogue's 5 Looks 1 Girl... I just find it fascinating seeing how the chicks at Vogue put pieces together and what they wear to work (perhaps it's also because some day I hope to be a part of that world entirely!)

That being said here is one of the more recent images from the concept!
Enjoy friends!

My nail bracelet is the real deal—I was in Philip Crangi’s studio years ago, which is truly a metalsmith’s shop—and he stuck the nail in a vise and hammered it around my wrist. My wedding and engagement rings were designed by my dear friend Irene Neuwirth.  The pouch is NewbarK, and I bought the belt in Copenhagen at a beautiful old Saddlery near Nyhavn.

Last year, I stopped in the Céline store with a friend during Paris Fashion Week, and he convinced me that I had to have this black cashmere cape. I was dubious at first, but he was right. Sometimes it pays to shop with a friend who points things out for you that you never would pick for yourself.

I’m drawn to graphic patterns, so I’m wearing a vintage Hermès cashmere sweater with a Balenciaga pleated skirt, which I’ll probably have forever. I’m wearing it with a Stella McCartney wool single-button coat that works well under a big parka, which I needed often this week. The thigh-high leather boots are from LD Tuttle, who is from L.A. and does amazing boots. I love that they are flat, so they don’t feel too sexy.

I just got this Balenciaga cobalt cashmere cardigan this fall, and I already predict it will be a staple. And again, borrowing from my mother, this is her Navajo silver concha belt—I always wear a silver belt with this Marc Jacobs shirt to bring out the silver details.
The blue jeans are Acne, which are the jeans that fit me best. I always look for jeans that are long and lean, not too skintight. I almost always wear flats when I'm working backstage. I love men’s-style shoes; these are Dries Van Noten, though they look like an exotic skin, the leather is actually embossed, which is genius, and means they are an everyday shoe for me.

Today felt positively springlike, so I gave my parka a rest and wore my wool Balenciaga peacoat—I love the proportions of this jacket’s big collar and boxy and short shape. The sweater is probably the most luxurious thing I own—it’s really thick cashmere, and I’ve had it for years. My mom gave it to me as a birthday gift when I was in college, and I actually didn’t like it at first—and now I absolutely cherish it not just because of its cool shape, thick piles of cashmere, and the mock turtleneck collar, but because it was a gift from my mom that I grew into! The sunglasses are 3.1 Phillip Lim tortoise shell.
