Wallis Giunta, the very talented Opera singer, is the new face of McCaffrey's Haute Couture.

McCaffrey's teamed up with Blackbook Lifestyle to promote the launch at their Sussex location.

There was champagne, beautiful wedding and cocktail gowns, and the who's who of Ottawa media!

Erica ON Fashion Spring Trend Report - #5 Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses are another big trend this season, the trick is to make it your own.

The best way to do that is by adding some fun accessories and layers.

Another fun way to wear a maxi dress is by changing the length. This one came in a long diagonal version, so to make it more unique, I tied a knot in the longer side to make it shorter.

Black dresses can be boring, so make sure if you're wearing one to add some colour to add visual interest! I did so with a white vest, a military-styled belt and a coral statement necklace.

When in doubt, add a silk or linen scarf to complete the look

- oh and it never hurts to add some fringe sandals!

Spring Trends with Erica ON Fashion: Trend #4 Texturize

Alright ladies, it's time to TEXTURIZE!

If you're going to wear black in the spring, you need to make sure it's visually stimulating.

Whether it's adding sheer, lace, leather, shine or jewels, it's important that you mix it up, so it doesn't look like you're counting down the days to winter (EWW!)

This look encorpoates many of the items mentioned above: jewel details at the shoulder to balance out the over-sized leather shorts, a champagne silk blouse with lace detail at the neck, and a fun coloured shoe and military style belt.

Add some statement accessories in corresponding colours and a great pair of cat-eye shades (huge trend for this summer) and you're all set!
