I love to layer, we all know this by now, but summer weather can make it difficult. If you attempt it, use light fabrics like I did with the lace shirt and cotton jacket over top. And balance the look out by using a silk short.

Here's how I beat the heatwave this week!

With this week reaching record highs in temperature and humidity, I wanted to wear loose and light so I went with some silk shorts and top and used a cargo vest as an over piece to stay warmer in the a/c.

Valentino Haute Couture - Paris Fall 2011

Valentino really can do no wrong... the dresses were gorgeous, makeup was exceptional... but I have to admit I wasn't digging the headbands. I understand what they were trying to do with them, but it just wasn't my taste.

Otherwise, perfection all around.
