Hot Dress Trends for Summer 2012

ASOS  is one of my favourite places to shop online. They have so many options it's insane. Not only that, but they're always incredibly on trend. I found some key dresses that are high-end designer inspired, for a lot less.

Here are my top choices for trend-worthy dresses for summer!

The Little Black Peplum $69.59

Peplum dresses are fabulous for work or evening - this one is particularly lovely because it can go either way, simply by changing the accessories or adding/subtracting a blazer). This one reminds me a lot of a Marni embellished peplum seen here.

Floral Shift Dress $66.28 

I love this dress because it's similar to Mary Katrantzou's dress seen here, but for a fraction of the price! The print and colour is a lot of fun (plus you can add a leather legging and bring it into your fall wardrobe!).

Floral Printed Dress $248.55

Another beautiful print that's great for the office or for an afternoon wedding. Love the 3/4 length sleeve and ruching details - very figure flattering. DVF does print so well, but sometimes the price can be out of our range, which is why this ASOS dress is a lot more practical!

Hawaiian Dress $107.71

This print reminds me of Stella McCartney's Hawaiian print for her spring/summer 2012 season (seen here). It's so fresh and pretty - for day wear or evening. 

Maxi Dress $256.84

This orange colour is so creamy and delicious. I especially love the one sleeve detail then cinched at the waist with a belt. It reminds me of one I saw at Holts the other day from DVF (also seen here), but again, at half the price! Great for an outdoor wedding!

Neon Beaded Cocktail Dress $124.28

This sexy cocktail dress has my name written all over it. I love beaded detail - it really adds a lot of visual interest to this dress. The pockets are brilliant (no purse needed)! The neon trend is played up in this look but doesn't overwhelm it; reminds me of a Shoshanna dress that I had my eye on... but I much prefer this one now that I've found it!

Polka Dot Midi-Dress $46.40

Talk about taking you back into time... this midi-length dress is so picture perfect I can't even take it - and with those shoes? I'll take two. Normally I'm not a big polka dot wearer, but this dress has that mad men feel that I just can't get enough of. Stella made dots new and fun again in fall 2011 (seen here)... I hope they're here to stay!

Striped Dress $74.57

This sweet little thing caught my eye because it reminded me of what Prada did for their spring summer collection last year. Love how it looks vintage with the cinched waist and cap sleeve. Perfect day dress worn casually or dresses up with a leather jacket for an evening event. Cute, cute, cute.

Geometric Printed T-Shirt Dress $289.98

I never thought I would like a collared dress shirt but this one is amazing. The printed detail is so fun and versatile - I would love to see this with leather leggings in the fall, or a statement coloured jacket. The good news is that geometric prints are big again for fall 2012, so you'll wear this a ton. This dress made me think of this stunning Piazza Sempione dress here... what's not to love?
