Erica ON Fashion {Seeing Double}

In case it's not obvious, I'm kind of obsessed with stripes these days.They're just so timeless and easy to wear - in this look I used a top and skirt in the same colour of stripes but broke it up with the dominate colours being opposite of each other.

Top Alice & Olivia. Skirt Jacob. Blazer ZARA. Cuffs Le Chateau. Sandals Bottega Venetta. Belt Gap.

Ottawa Magazine: Summer Trends

Back in June I styled a feature for Ottawa Magazine's Shop Talk on Summer Trends. Tribal, pastels, brights, mixing prints and tropical were a huge hit this season (as were many others!). Check the looks out below!

Affordably Posh {I-Cat, U-Cat}

Tribal or I-Cat print is everywhere this summer and I especially love seeing it done in unexpected colours like this one from Old Navy (this is actually a maxi dress that I converted into a maxi skirt - two ways to wear one piece - love it!).

I wanted to show you how to wear it a bit sexier for an evening out with the girls; the best way to do it is by adding an edgy leather jacket and cage sandals. Alternatively you can substitue the leather for a blazer and make it an office look with ballet flats!

The rest of Delaney's look...

Tank - Vero Moda $19.99
Necklace - Sears $16.99
Belt - Walmart $14

... this entire outfit is only $150!

Affordably Posh {Cool Colours}

I love pastels for summer - they're light in colour making it a must-have for the HOT weather we've been having. Colour blocking is a lot of fun, and pastels make it easy to do. I decided to make this scarf the focal point, pulling colours from it, to create the rest of the outfit.

If there's something that you absolutely adore in your closet, but can't seem to find what to wear with it, let IT be the statement piece that you build the rest of the look from.

The rest of Delaney's outfit is...

Crossbody - Sears $50
Skinny Jeans - Vero Moda $49
Wedges - Walmart $19

Affordably Posh {Work A Maxi}

Maxi dresses are a great wardrobe staple for summer. They can be dressed up for work or down for a cottage party. Here I have Del wearing it to the office. The easiest way to pull off a maxi dress for work is to add a blazer. I also recommend adding jewellery and other accessories that dress it up appropriately. I did so here with the belt, necklace and purse.

The rest of Delaney's outfit is from:

Jacket - Sears Jones & Co $119
Sandals - Walmart George $19

Last Wednesday, I had the amazing opportunity to chat fashion with one of Canada's top fashionista's Dina Pugliese, on Breakfast Television Toronto.

We wanted to set you straight on what's worth investing in this summer (that you can bring into fall), and what's worth saving on!

Check it out here.

Affordably Posh {Hot Days}

This girl might be the cutest thing I've ever seen... love tunics this time of year because it's all about the legs. I loved this one in particular because it reminded me of a scarf I used to own many years ago (just goes to show you everything comes back in style). Layer it without getting too hot with a denim vest!

The rest of Marcia's outfit is from...

Sears Sandal - $40
Walmart Shell Bracelet - $6
Sears NYGARD Turquoise Bracelets - $25
Sears Jessica Chunky Necklace - $14.99
Sears NYGARD Blue Necklace - $35

Affordably Posh {To The Max-i}

I'm having a love affair with maxi skirts right now. I have one and basically wear it every day! It's great to throw on if you're heading to the beach or dress it up with a wedge for an evening out with friends.

Protect your scalp from the sun with a stylish wide-brimmed hat like this Joe Fresh number.

And the rest of Delaney's outfit is from:

Sears Coral Top - $24.88
Sears Black Bracelet - $6.99
Walmart Bracelets x 2 - $7 each

OUTFIT TOTAL: $132.63

Affordably Posh {Mixin' Prints}

Walmart has really stepped up their fashion game - both the skirt AND top are from the big ol' store and I must say, they're pretty fab.

Mixing prints can be a lot of fun if done right; as I always say, make sure to keep the same colours going through both prints. If one print is bolder than the other (like this polka dot blouse), anchor it with a blazer in a complementary colour from the softer print (like the blue from this skirt)!

The rest of Marcie's outfit is from:

Sears Crossbody - $50
Sears Ring - $14
Walmart Necklace - $8

TOTAL PRICE $175!

Affordably Posh {Cool Tones}

Looking for ways to look chic and stay cool? Wear white! Keep it simple by adding fun colours and textures like we did here with the silk blouse and canvas printed pumps. If your blazer is a boyfriend fit, but you're looking for a distinct shape, try belting it! It's an instant upgrade to an old look.

The rest of Delaney's outfit includes:

Sears by Jay Manuel Blazer - $79.99
Sears by Jay Manuel Crossbody - $55
Walmart Scarf - $10
Sears Necklace - $14.99
Sears 3-Piece Bracelet - $19.99
