Golden Globes 2013: Best & Worst

I think we would all agree Tina Fey and Amy Poeler nailed the co-hosting of the Globes last night...Fun, fresh and absolutely hilarious. I think we can also agree that some celebs shone on the red carpet, while others looked more like a wet carpet... here are my BEST and WORST dressed of the evening.

BEST

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu, Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta, Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen, Niaomi Watts in Zac Posen, Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan

WORST

Halle Berry in Atilier Versace - This was a hot mess. Halle is usually always a topper but this time, that asymmetrical top is making her breast look lopsided and overall strange. The high slit and crazy pattern isn't doing it for me either. Too much skin and too much pattern - she looks like a deranged birthday cake.

Jennifer Lawrence in Haute Couture Dior - never thought I'd see her in the bottom. This dress is beautiful and was a stunner on the runway, but for a red carpet I don't think it's a hit. The top made Jennifer's chest looks like something out of the Jetson's and I really didn't understand the hair, earring and belt combo. Everything seemed mismatched and poorly planned.

Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein - what's with the weird boob placements last night?! So far my top three worst dressed, all had strange tops to their dresses making them look completely ridiculous. Jessica is a stunner and this helmet head styled hair and saggy boob combo is an epic fail.

Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera- Gotta give her points for trying. Although this is a big trend for spring (pastels and florals with a vintage throw-back) there was WAY to much fabric. Lucy is such a petite woman, it just doesn't work. Perhaps if it had been more of a column shape it would've worked? On top of that, the braided hair with the princess styled dress?!? It made her look like Rapunzel!

Lena Dunham in Zac Posen - She's so sweet and I'm so happy she won for her HBO hit "Girls" (the hipster version of Sex and they City as some say) - but her dress was terrible. It was poorly shaped on top and then cascaded far too widely for a woman of Lena's shape. It almost looked like the dress came alive and was trying to eat her. The colour was also a poor choice for someone so fair with such great skin! It really didn't do her justice.

So what are your best and worst?

  1. I normally love Lucy Liu's style but the pattern and form of the dress she wore was awful. In all honesty, they look like curtains that belong in a little girl's room.

Moreover, I truly believe that had Halle Berry worn Elie Saab - he would've certainly made sure that she would've not appeared the way she did. Stick with the Lebanese designers, sweetheart!
